brace hieght?

can somebody tell me what is the recomended brace hieght for a mid 70's grizzly 58" 55# and what would be the best type string to use? thanks alot.

oldpaths, you could use a flemish or an endless loop string. Either would be fine as long as it is dacron. I wouldn't use one of the "modern" materials, stay with B-50. Brace her at about 8" and see how it feels/shoots. You may find a little higher or lower will shoot better for you.

18 years ago before I started building and shooting selfbows.I shot a lot of differnt recurves.Most true recurves brace between 7,8 inchs yours I say around 8"to start for you.Then you can either start up or down.By twisting it 2 times and shooting it.To you can find the sweet spot in your bow.After you get close when it's starting felling better.Switch down to one turn.Even prouction bows in different hands can be little different.
  No one can tell you the exact number it will only get you close.You have to shoot it and no one can do it for you.Again they can only it you close SHOOT,SHOOT and SHOOT some more.Plus shooting can't hurt your over all shooting.
