Ben Pearson Equalizer

I'm relatively new here... this is my first post. I really have appreciated all the help I've found (like the shooting section has vastly improved my shooting). Well, I need some advice.

Does anyone have any experience with the 48" Ben Pearson "Equalizer"?

I shoot a Zipper Extreme but would like a short bow for shooting out of my turkey blind. I had been looking for a Kodiak Magnum... then found a '71 model BP that is 50# @28. My Zip is 55#@28 and just a tad heavy for me.

I called about it tonight and will look at it tomorrow. He says "no twisted limbs", good shape. He hunted with it last year. Says it "shoots hard". ????

There are two holes drilled in the riser. Can those be filled?

Any advice would be appreciated. Oh yeah... he's asking $60.

Thanks..
Wayne

I had one and it was a good shooting bow, just remember to keep the brace height up to 9 1/4 or more and it will shoot smoother. You can't beat that price if it shoots, you can always sell it for that again later. I sold mine for 125$

hey Wayne!  I sold a Ben Pearson Equalizer to a fellow at ATAR a couple years ago. it was a really neat little bow. from you've stated the bow is well worth what you can buy it for. heck' for that price if you don't like it for hunting, it would make one heck of a fishing bow.

Thanks for your comments. I purchased it this evening and got home in time to shoot a couple dozen arrows through it... and I'm pleased. My last group of three arrows were a three inch group around the bullseye at 15 yards.

It is definitely less forgiving than my Zipper and I expected that. I've really got to concentrate to shoot it well... which I think will be good for me.

Again... thanks for the advice. I'm happy.
