Fred Bear camo Jacket

Has anybody got an Idea of the make and model of the jacket Fred used to wear. I like it, it looks like it would be just right. Not to thick and not to thin. The arms look like they fit tight as to not interfere with the string.

Jeff,

I am lucky enough to have one of Fred's personal jackets that was gifted to me by Art Botzenmayer.  Art was a purchasing manager for Bear for 12 years or so.  He helped facilitate the move to Florida.  Art was a wealth of information about Fred and Bear archery. He was also a heck of a nice guy. Unfortunately, Art died this past year.

The jacket I have was given to Art by Mrs. Bear after Fred died.  It is a faded and well-worn woodland camo jacket and was made with a Bear Archery label.  I have actually worn the jacket while hunting.  Serious mojo.

Gregg, that is an awesome story. I'd love to see a picture of that. That would be some good eye candy.

Serious mojo indeed!

In the early 70's Bear Archery made and sold that jacket along with a set of pants that went with it. I brought the match and used it till I wore them out.

Gregg, How Much ?
No Just kidding, I know you would not sell it. I am looking for one. If you see one that is close to that let me know. Cabelas has some, but they all look to heavy. I do like the outfitter camo. I looked at the sitka stuff but I am not sure if I like it or not.
What happened to the good old days.
Jeff
P.S. I would like to see a picture of it when you get a chance.
Thanks again

Heh heh.  My father has the set.  Still wears them.  I told him the other day that it must still be okay, even as faded as it is, because Mr. Bear's camo in all his pictures is throughly faded as well.

I had a jacket similar to the one Fred used to wear and after reading this thread went down in the basement to look for it. Couldn't find it where it had been hanging in the closet for all those years. Then I remembered. I'm pretty sure it got thrown away a year or so ago.  It was the only piece of camo I owned when I first started bow hunting back in the sixties. It probably hadn't been worn in over thirty years and even though it was still in pretty good shape I doubted it would ever get worn in another thirty. If I only knew someone would have wanted it I'd have gladly given it to them.

Here's my Fred Bear wear.  I'm pretty sure Fred didn't wear this one though.  I've worn it so many years hunting it's getting threadbare and ripped in places.  I wore it this Dec and killed a doe while wearing it.
