Calf Hair strikeplate sourcing?
« on: February 18, 2009, 08:17:00 AM »
Can anyone tell me where I can find a piece of black calf hair 2"tall by 3" long?
I have a unique application and all I can find is the "preshaped Shield" type pieces.

Tanks,
Ron

tandy leather.  I think I picked up my sheet of the stuff at the big chain art supply store (they carry a very small amount of Tandy products - mostly lacing and the leather accent peices).

Don't know if have a hobby lobby close by but they have it. They carry stuff from tandy leather or just try tandy leather web site.

3Rivers used to sell it in 3"x4" sheets I believe.

I've looked through 3R's Catalog and online = no luck. I may try the Phone tonight.
I do have a Hobby Lobby about a 1/2 hr away. I may give them a try.
Thanks for the Ideas! (I always forget about Tandy)

Give 3Rivers a call. They are a great bunch of folks there and always willing to help. If they don't have it, they might tell you where you can find some.

It,s on the way, I usually use contact cement like barges or tanners bond to put it on with. Glad I could help.
