DB blind question??
«
on:

Double bull blind shooting a 64" recurve - can I get by with a 68" model or do I need the extra 4 inches (recurve model). Gonna spend that much 4 more inches is 100 bucks... (easy)
Second question - are they rain proof?

If in doubt, go larger. That's my experience anyway. Too often I'm digging a pit in the middle of my blinds to accomodate my bow's length. I shoot a 64" bow out of 2 Double Bulls and 1 Boondocks (Scheels), and limb clearance IS a bit of an issue. I do NOT have any special stickbow model blind, but wish I did.
That said, I don't hunt a ton out of the ground blinds so hopefully some others with LOTS of experience will chime in.

I'd go with the taller recurve model. I have 4 of them and love me.
They are not rain proof but are rain resistant.
I've never sat in one in a downpour but in a steady rain, I stayed dry.

I've taken critters from both with a 64" longbow but you'd be happier with the recurve model...O.L.

You will only regret it if it is too short. Spray the top with silicone waterproofing and let air about a week so scent will be gone, does a pretty good job at keeping you dry.

Recurve model is only way to go. Last one I bought was only $50.00 more for recurve model.

I have the recurve model and love it, after sitting in it for a season I got into my buddies regular version and wouldn't recommend it.
I was shooting a 62" longbow; I did notice a difference with my longbow from my 60" recurve in the spring.
If your one who shoots a shorter bow around 56” or so I think the shorter blind would work great…I have a 56” Whisperstik coming this spring, so my T2 might even get some use also.

I shot my 64" longbow out of a recurve model very comfortably...that is what I would go with if I was buying.

I have nothing but recurve models. You'll appreciate the extra overhead room.

I like being able to stand up in mine and just touch the top of my head...I'm about as close to 6' without being there.
