4 fletch Rayzrs and nock alignment
« on: February 27, 2009, 04:41:00 PM »
I'm trying the 4 at 90 fletch with the 2" Rayzr fletch. Does it/ should it make a difference how the nock is aligned to the fletch? What is/should be best? Just started playing with this and getting decent flight so far. Thanks for any help.

In a well tuned arrow it should not make a difference if there is no seam in the shaft, some carbons have a stiff side like grizzlysticks.
For hunting I shoot the adcock 2.5" x .5" fletch with turbulator as it is the quietest fletch I have tried. Nock placement on the axis arrow makes no difference but I do shoot off an elevated rest.

Put some powder on the riser and shoot different nock positions and look for interference.
shoot straight shoot often

it shouldn't make any difference how the nock is oriented.
let me know how you like the rayzers, been thinking about trying them myself in a 4-fletch.

The Rayzrs are very stiff and I'm getting excellent fight with them. I'm impressed. I've always shot 3or4 fletch 5" feathers (or bigger). Didn't know if these would work but they have. I have only shot them indoors so far at no more then 20 yards. Looking forward to trying them outside at longer distances.

The best placement that I have experimented with is if you were looking at the back of the arrow, the fletching would look like an "X" 2,4,8 and 10 o'clock.

Thanks Don. I think that is one option I'm trying along with a +, 12,3,6,9. Not sure which is better yet, or if I'm good enough to tell.

Are you using these in a straight clamp and clamping them straight? Field points? Keep us updated.
thanks

Yes, straight clamp, field points. My plan right now is to shoot this set-up for 3-d and our Video DART league.
