Hey Cody!
The TD bow was originally designed so it could be broke down, carried in a pack into the deep woods, on a airplane ect, then easily put back together for hunting. There are several TD design's out there and the Bear TD design is probably the best known. One of my TD's have limb bolts made out of antler burrs so I can put the bow together without the use of any tools. The risers in TD bows tend to be beefier because of the internal hardware they carry, hence the more bow weight and considered a more stable shooting bow. The TD bow also gives you the option to add different length or weighted limbs while using the same familiar riser. It is my prefered type of bow design because of the different options it offers.
Welcome aboard!
