Bear Take Down Question

New to traditional archery. Got a Bear Take Down bow #55lb, a year ago. I am finding a clicking sound coming from the bottom limb about 50-60% of the time while drawing and shooting in practice. It seems like the lower limb is not seating into the pocket correctly.


It is such a  nagging problem that I sent the bow back to Bear for a look see.

Anyone else have any experience on this?

I had one that made a small noise when I shot.   I put a little wax on the inside of the latches/limb bed area and that took care of it.

Pete draw the bow a few times with the latches open.The noise is normally caused by those leather taps glued to the latches..bd

You beat me to the answer.

Do you have a tip protector on?  I had a similar noise problem and it turned out to be the protector, it drove me nuts.

I had one riser that no matter what set of limbs I put on made the same noise.  On a whim, I took out the locator screw.  No more noise.
The screw is off just enough that the little bit of flex in that area caused the screw to rub on the brass sleeve in the limb.
After reducing the size of the screw some there were no problems with the screw in either.

Don't shoot that bow, pack it up nicely and just send it to me so you don't hurt yourself. I am only thinking of your saftey in this!heheheh
