New, Old Red Wing Pro.
« on: March 11, 2009, 06:50:00 PM »
Just received this one in the mail this afternoon.  58",  50#,  Rosewood/Shedua, Wing Slim Line, Red Wing Pro.  Will be shooting it tomorrow on the stump course.  I'm pretty sure it's a 1973, but am still researching.  It has two small holes in back of riser that I can work on, but other than that it is in great condition.

Always liked those Slim Line Pros.  Profile is very similar to the Black Widow PTF.  Any idea which came first?

Wilson Brothers, who owned Black Widow at the time, was not making such a bow.  They were making mostly metal risers...the T=1200 and 1225 and the HF-1225 and HF-500.  They were A-Frame metal risers.

This Wing bow is from 1973.

Actually if you look at the TF series bow, the profile is pretty much the SA's or PA's  without the hooters.

George, I have the same bow, #45, acutally scales around #47@28. If this shoots like mine, she is a keeeeeppper! I think these bows shoot a lot like a super shrew. Mine was set up to shoot off the shelf, played with the nock a little, shoots several different carbons well. You have done well on this one.Sam

Wilson Bros. were making bows back in the 50's. The metal handle Widows started in 1971 but previous to that they made several wood handle models including some longbows. This mid 60's model might be what you were referring to as similar the Wing ProLine.
