Martin Bamboo Viper?
« on: March 12, 2007, 12:39:00 PM »
Has anyone had a chance to shoot the new Martin Bamboo Viper?  If so, can you offer any comparison to some of the other carbon backed bows, such as the Tomahawk Diamond SS?  I'm in the market for a new bow, but don't really have a convenient chance to shoot any of the above side by side-

Thanks for any of your thoughts-

Shot a Bamboo Viper at the local shop a few days back ,then a Savanna which was a couple hundred less in price. Felt the Savanna out shot the Viper asked the shop owner his thoughts and he agreed. said others who had tried it felt the same. By the way i have a T-hawk comming in the mail as I'm writing this.. Hope that helped

Thanks L.E.-

That helped a lot.  I already have the savannah, and am very pleased with it.  I'm looking at the T-hawk as well - I've never shot a carbon backed bow though for comparison.  Hope you like your new bow-

Hardhed, If you prefer Martin's Savannah over the Vision, you may or may not like the Bamboo Viper. The Bamboo Viper riser has same grip as the Vision & the limbs have simliar geometry. I've heard someone say that Martin will also custom make you a Savannah in carbon backed bamboo. I'd love to see pictures when somebody gets one of those little babies. I own both the Savannah & the Bamboo Viper. The BV is still too new to me to say for sure, but right now I still favor my Savannah. The Bamboo Viper is a wicked looking bow, though, and it seems quicker than my Savannah. Both are marked 55# @ 28", but I don't have a bow scale or a chronograph. Can't go wrong with either bow, in my opinion.
