Anyone in Lubbock, TX-some help please.
« on: March 16, 2009, 05:05:00 PM »
Well now.....got the word last week that my shop is closing it's doors the end of this week.  :(

Been offered a similiar position in Lubbock.
But I am pretty much broke and won't have much to get started with.

Looking for a 2 br. house, garage, fenced yard (for my avatar)preferrably outta the city somewhat.

New (maybe) boss said he can help some, but it would be a HUGE help if I had an idea of exactly what I'll be getting into.

Please PM me with any questions, comments, etc.

Thanks all.

Dan

Dan,

I live in Midland which is just a little over 100 miles south of Lubbock.  I own a small house in Lubbock in which my two college age kids live in right now.  I have a friend that has rent house nearby.  Anyway...just ask away and I will help you in anyway I can.

I graduated from Texas Tech....MANY years ago.  Some of the best folks in the world live in West Texas and Lubbock is a very good town.  You'll like it there Dan.  Have a safe trip and Welcome to Texas!

Dan,
I am in Midland/Odessa also. Lubbock is a good town and housing (from what I understand) is available right now. I don't think you'll have a problem. You may not get exactly what you want, but you'll be comfortable.

Thanks guys for your inputs. It seems like my new employer wants me badly enough to help me with the moving expenses and getting me a place down there.
Be a couple of months before I can make the move due to things I need to clear up here first, but I'll be down there soon.
