Predator recurve / Fox High Sierra?
« on: March 22, 2009, 04:13:00 AM »
You probably remember my recent thread about my new Predator recurve.  I really love this bow so much and the more I shoot it the more it becomes my go-to-bow.

I have a friend who shot my bow recently and reckons that it is a good bow but the Fox High Sierra is much much better.

Was wondering if any of you lads have shot these bows and I would be interested in some opinions.  I have never seen one over here in Auss.

Don't worry - I am certainly not thinking of trading this Predator - it is goiing nowhere.  Furthermore - I do not have any more dough to buy more bows at the moment.

I am only asking because I think my friend may be wrong - I could not imagine how it could be that much better than my Predator.

I had a Fox Royal Crown and though it was extremely well made and was a very accurate bow -I thought, compared to my other bows, that it was quite slow.

I have a Fox High Sierra. I really like it but I have found how a bow shoots for one person may not be the way it shoots for another. Having never shot a Predator I cannot compare the two bows. The High Sierea is a very good bow. it is stable, forgiving, fairly fast, is very pretty, & maybe the most important is quiet. Hope this helps. Frank

never shot the fox sierra,, did try one of his 50's style recurves @ denton hill and it had alot of shock so maybe it wasn't braced right IDK,,,, my opinion is the Preditor is a very very hard bow to beat once you get used to the grip..

i got to shoot John Dils foxhigh sierra today, the pics ive seen do not do this bow justice in terms of beauty, the grip was very comfortable.im not as certain as far as poinability , i only shot a valf dozen arrows from it . it was as quiet a bow as ive ever shot to date. if you had the money to purchase one new or used i dont think you would be wasting your money

I just traded a  Whip for a High Sierra about a week and a half ago and I also never shot a Predator but can say this , It is smooth, fast and very quiet...It fits my hand perfect and like everyone else has said what fits one may not fit another...If you ever get the chance try one...Keefers <")))><
