footed woodies with cocobolo
« on: March 26, 2009, 10:45:00 PM »
Well JonS( i can't spell your last name)  ;)    had a thread up a while back about some footed arrows he did. I thought that I would try it, but I made my own footing blanks out of cocobolo. They not only look good, but they added on average 80-90 grains up front. I had to drop my point weight accordingly, but they fly great and hit like a freight train. Thanks for lookin.

They look great! How did you shape the tapers on the main shafts?

Ryan

I am impressed!!!  And you said that so non-chalantly "I thought I would try it" .

Then BAM!

Nice job!

I shaped them with a hand plane. I've seen them done with a belt sander as well. Thanks Jake, how have you been? Other than getting ready for hogs

Been pretty good Ryan, trying to stay busy with work, shooting as much as possible and counting the days!  :D

Nice job on your footings. What is the main shafting?
