I went and did it now!
« on: April 01, 2009, 08:27:00 AM »
I did something yesterday I said I'd never do again - order a new custom bow!

I swore 'em off two years ago when I decided to build up a Bear collection from the 1950's, but the one one Bear bow I really want, Bear never actually made!  :D

Enter Brandon at Rose Oak Bows and his new Companion longbow!   :bigsmyl:  I was waiting (along with many others) for Brandon to offer a longbow and what he came up with is perfect for me!  The long riser and heavily reflexed limbs look like what the '59-60 Polar should have evolved into.

So in a few months there'll be a long package at my door with the bow that's been in my head for two years waiting to be shot.  Cocobolo slabs sandwiching a bird's eye maple I-beam, the riser trimmed in purpleheart like the old Kodiaks, brown glass, and gracefull lines in the 64" longbow.

My one fear is that I'm going to have to get a matching Ocelot recurve.  I'm on Brandon's list now, so everyone else feel free to check out his website and order a bow  :biglaugh:

Now I have to decide which of the old Bears need to move off the rack   "[dntthnk]"

Sounds like a nice one that you have come'n. Getting rid of an old Bear should not be a big issue..lol. How long a wait do you have for the new one.
