are there many longbows built with a grip or handle more similar to a recurve. I like the shrew handle and seem to shoot pretty well with a larger grip... thanks.

Oh yeah, tons of them. Especially in the 3-piece.
Bob Lee T/D longbow comes to mind in the 3 piece.
Horne brush bow comes to mind in a one piece. You can get the Horne brush bow in a 2 piece also.

Morrison Shawnee, Black Swan Impala, etc. If the Shrew grip works for you though, sounds like you found what you need and a great bow to boot.

Steve, you might take a look at the Martin Vision. It has a true recurve grip, as far as I can tell. Lots of locators around, just not as hand filling as the Martin.

My wife,boys,and I all shoot Mikuta longbows and we are VERY pleased with them!!!!!

I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!
There is a fine line between Hunting, & Sitting there looking Stupid...
