what's the holding weight?

when you say 'new', you mean the bow is a brandy new bow or an old bear that's new to you?  makes a big difference where string fiber type matters.

my suggestion is to seek out a trad gang stringmaker sponsor.

I like D97 for my bows that can handle low stretch string materials.

jdc, so I assume its the newer fast flight compatible bow? I have both fast flight and d-97 and can do a flemish  string for you. I have many colors and servings.Steve

jdc, it's great having friends like that! 450 is a great material also. I have it on a couple of my selfbows. I like them because I can shoot a heavy arrow. Now, how about learning to make your own stings from your buddy? Good Shootin, Steve

My preferance would be 10-12 strands of Dynaflight '97 with 16 strands in the loops, or 12 strands of 8125 with 16-18 strands in the loops.
