Arrow rest question
« on: April 10, 2009, 07:12:00 AM »
Can you fellers help me out? I saw a arrow rest on a guys bow and want to try one but I can't seem to find any. I don't know who makes it so I'll try to describe what jt looked like. It looked to be a stick on style and was on the shelf, not stuck to the bow where the plate is. It looked like a base with nylon bristles for the arrow to rest on. It looked to be about an inch long and maybe 1/2 wide and was ramped alittle higher towards the front. Does anyone have any idea what I'm trying to describe?
Thanks, BC

It sounds like a feather type style rest, you put them on the rest and they look like alittle ramp.Usally 4-5 little feathers on an adhesive pad, haven't seen any made of nylon bristles. There is also a brush style rest,it sticks where the side plate goes and has some nylon bristles the stick out sideways and you shoot off it,a vintage type elevated rest.I believe there is a sponsor here that sells the old style feather rest in the sponsor's classifieds.

sounds like a brush rest. you can make one out of an old toothbrush head  ;)  glue it to the shelf.

seems like I seen em at 3rivers, but I wont swear to it.

JRY309, I saw the feather rest and it does kind of resemble one and mounted on the bow like they do but it had what looked like nylon bristles instead of feathers on it.
trapperDave, maybe it was homemade from a tooth brush, I'll have to see what I can fabricate.
 Thanks fellas.

Smallwood, it didn't really look like that. The bristles were taller and more of a ramp look to it. Thanks for the help though!
