« on: April 21, 2009, 05:19:00 PM »

Is there a past post that people used to show off their arrows

When I get my wraps from Onestringer I will post my new creation idea. I'm excited and can hardly wait to get them. I've been working on the feather splicing until then so all I'll have to do is put them together.

Nothing really to show off, but I almost always crest and fletch mine in one of these patterns, shown in order of my preference:

I've also done some splices but mainly just experiments...too much work for my limited spare time but they sure turn out pretty...

JC...nice arrows...do you chop your own feathers or buy them? 5" or 5 1/2?  Especially like the spliced ones...real nice..

Thanks Terry, I really enjoy all the little details that go into putting an arrow together. I truly have no desire to build a bow but I haven't shot an arrow I didn't assemble since I don't know when. These are all the 4" low profile 4-fletch; I chop them with a Vario clipper with the 4" hunter model insert.

Herb Haines at Herb's archery has a few of the choppers and various inserts left. Apparently, the guy that designed and built this beautiful tool has disappeared from the face of the archery world. Worth the money though, much better than a lil'chopper.
