Stringtracker safety question
« on: April 22, 2009, 04:12:00 PM »
On the advice of several here I bought one of the string trackers from turkeyhuntingsecrects.com for my bow to hunt turkey.  What I haven't seen is anyone mention if there's any safety issue with using a string tracker and why something like a saftey glide isn't needed.   Is this something to be concerned about?

BTW, an idea I have for cushioning the mounting bracket: instead of wrapping it in electrical tape I'm going to try using some plasti dip I got on clearance.  Anyone tried this?

String tracker line is easily snapped by an arrow if for some reason it tangled...

I've been using one for 9yrs now and have never had a problem with a tangle...

one thing to watch out for i dont know if it is a prob with stick bows but it happen to me as a youngen with the compound. if ypu use yoru index finger on your bow hand to help hold the arrow during draw make sure you dont put it back on the handle over the string OUCH!!! i did this and it stopped my arrow befor eit went 20 yards the string went half way through my finger other than that i never have had a prob havent used a tracker string with the trad gear but i think i will when i try for those birds
