New Firefly bow ( I'm Impressed)
« on: April 28, 2009, 06:32:00 AM »
The bow is on the Michigan Traditional bow hunters page if you want to see it or if a Mod can move them that would be great.
I got a chance to shoot one of Jim Jones bow at the Michigan bunny stomp and I had to have one so I sold my bow and ordered this one. I went to Jims shop and hand picked the woods. Jim is a great guy and his customers come first.
The bow shoots as nice as it looks sweet to draw quiet and fast. Crafstmanship is second to none. I picked the bow apart when I got home and it is flawless.
Bow info: 48#@28" draw 62" long.
Riser: Zircote with yellowheart accent stipes
Limbs: Action boo core, Bocote veneers
Limb caps: Zircote
Lim tips: zircote, yellowheart and black macarta.

Thanks
Terry

hmm, i don't see that as a 'new' firefly - the new one is the 'route 66', with a longbow handle, as mentioned in this thread ...

I prefer the sexy curves in Terry's old riser. Why would they take those out??? Good looking grip and bow Terry.

i had a firefly fx - truly great t/d longbow, but i'm not a fan of any kinda 'recurve pistol grip', so the bow hadda go.

and yes, i've got a route 66 on order.

That was what Jim told me while I was there, he mentioned you had ordered a Route 66. They are sweet.

Kentucky TJ, the Route 66 is a new model.  Fireflies just like Terry's above are still available.  The Route 66 is offered as a new option for those who prefer a low grip style.

Russ, you already have one of the best looking Fireflies on the planet!   :saywhat:   Terry you can't play if Jim told you, that would be cheating!

If you're interested in a Firefly, you have to shoot one. You just cant imagine how nice they are until you shoot it. wow. Really. Not only are they well made and beautiful, they really shoot.

they just seem to "fit" and point right where you're looking.

Wow!  HenryHammer nailed it right off.

The "Route 66" refers to the path of true life, found in the 66 books of God's word.  :jumper:
