Beautiful bow!

Bears as well as birds like chitum (sp?) berries.  A few seasons back I sat on a landing and watched a gorgeous black bear demolish several chitum trees out in an old clearcut.  At first I could only see the trees shake then hear the branches breaking, then he stood up to reach a little higher.  He then proceeded to flop down in a beaver pond right below me to cool off, was a hot September afternoon.  No elk that day, but was fun to watch the bear!

An ex-logger I used to work with told me that if you wanted to play a dirty trick on someone, slip some chitum bark extract in into their coffee, it indeed has a laxative effect!
