A quiet day at the range.
« on: May 24, 2009, 02:23:00 PM »
My buddy Frassettor and I haven't had a chance to get together and shoot for over a week - that just won't do.  We played phone tag enough and decided since it was drizzling outside and the outdoor ranges were hit and miss, we'd head down to the indoor 3D range and poke some foam.

It was great, no one but us was on the line, and we could attempt all the boneheaded shots we'd never even think of in real life.   :D

Minimum shot distance was set at 20yrds, back wall was close to 45yrds, more than enough Reinhart targets and two levels (ground and elevated) to shoot off of.

The shots of the day were the laying elk at the back wall (aim for the sky and let it fly!) and the standing caribou through traffic on the ground.

All in all, a great day to do some learning.

Here's Frassettor and his PLX bearing down on the elk wayyyyyy on the back wall:

and myself with my Morrison Cougar getting ready to put the hurt on something, I think it was the Monster Buck or the Muley...

and for the record, Frassettor beat me.  Not by much, but we were both proud of the scores considering the level of difficulty involved.

Now if we could just do this out in the woods...

I was thinking the same thing about Houston.

That looks like a lot of fun.
Ask me about CTO.
