Buying a used custom doesn't guarantee quality. You still need a bow you can shoot well, and that may be a $30.00 one or a $300.00 and up model. There are lots of great used bows out there that will shoot with ANY bow made today. Don't get hung-up on names and egos. For example, for a hunting bow, I'm shooting a 1967 Shakespeare Necedah that I bought for $72.00...shipping and all. The bow is a great shooter, smooth as can be, and cheap. I also have a '66 Kodiak that I bought for less than $200.00 shipped...also a great bow and one that will definitely shoot with modern customs. Look around and keep an open mind. Arrows, are more important than the bow, as Rob mentioned.
