Thinking about doing my own feathers.
What is the deference between the two?

The primaries are the first 7 or 8 feathers on the end of the wing past the elbow. The primaries make better fletch because they're a thicker, tougher feather. I've used the secondaries as well with good results but the feathers don't last as long as primaries.
I say "waste not, want not", so I use all the parts of an animal that I can.
That's my 2 cents worth

Good, better, best! Yep, the primaries are best. But like Vince says the secondaries will work also.

I use primaries, secondaries, smaller wing feathers and tail feathers, all with good results.

What feathers, Dave? You sure are impatient. I spose you want to know if your 45# limbs are dne too! Patience Grasshopper, I'm off tommorow, maybe I'll grind a few feathers.
