How do you guys like your bows? Do you like the 1 or 2 piece bows? Noise level, forgiveness? Thanks.   BILL

Hands down the finest shooting bow I have ever owned or shot!  I like the extra weight of the 3 piece bows over a one piece and the convenience of the takedown if traveling.  It is a VERY quiet bow, when properly tuned.  Customer service is outstanding.  I knew from the very first shot I took with the bow that I had to own one.  That was 3 years ago at Compton and I haven't found another bow that I personally like better or I shoot as well!  It is definately my go to bow.

I've had mine a year and it's been great, customer service, performance, quality are second to none. The only downside for me is the small grip. I would shoot one before buying.

It's my favorite bow.  Extremely well proportioned.  Limbs are thin and narrow, riser is small (a feature I like) but with enough weight to give the bow excellent balance and feel.  Very fast, quiet and forgiving.  My ACS has halted my quest for "the perfect bow".  I think I may have found it.  Have another on order.

I love my 3 pc. Fast, quiet, accurate, smooth. The only down side is the grip, I think the grip is real susceptible to heel pressure. Small throat with a large palm swell.

I have been shooting the 3 piece for about a year now.  I ordered mine with the 14" riser, but have since purchased the 16" RC riser which seems to work better for me.  I do like the trim lines of the 14" riser, but it is a little small for my hand.  Comparing the same limbs on the two risers, the bow is noticeably quieter with the 16" riser.  Shooting side by side with an older Howatt Hunter, the A&H bow is quieter, and completely dead in the hand at the shot, where as I can feel a little vibration in the Howatt.

I wouldn't trade my 58" 3-piece ACS for anything.  Easily the best bow I've ever shot.  At 45# it's faster than some other bows I've had that were 50#+, with the same arrow.  Whisper quiet and way more accurate than I am.  I know now that if I make a screwed-up shot it's me and not the bow - kind of the "Days of Thunder" mentality.  I've only had it since January but I haven't even wanted to shoot anything else since I got it.

Took a 100# feral hog with it last week - quartering away, arrow hit behind the ribcage and came out next to the throat.  Eastman Big 5 two-blade went in horizontal, clipped both lungs and the top of the heart before exiting the neck and taking out the jugular.  Bow was so quiet I don't remember hearing it go off, hit exactly where I was looking.

I would highly reccomend the ACS bows.  Supposedly the one-pieces are a little quieter and a bit faster, which is a bold statement in itself.  The price is high, but you get what you pay for with A&H.

I have two ACS CX's.  Both are 16" RC risers with 64" limbs.  They are the only two bows I own now.  Have been shooting them for a little over 2 years.  I have had the 14" riser in aluminum and wood.  I have big hands so when they came out with the 16" RC riser, I had to have one.  They are quiet, fast, accurate, and no handshock for me.  Plus the guys at A&H are very good to deal with.  I highly recommend them.

Just got my ACS back today, had them send me lighter limbs. I like there low grip if you havent shot one you need to check out the grip. As far as the bow its super fast with little or no handshock.  Give them a call they are great to work with,

Bull it's hard to describe about the small grip, my hands aren't large but if someone has a large hand I could see were it could be a problem. I've seen a post were some guys were claiming that fletching was hitting their hand, I never had that problem, it maybe the best bow on the market today. When I play golf my glove size is large.

I have small hands (medium) and the first ACS bow i shot had a med grip and my hand felt like it was being pushed into the rest, not very comfortable to me. I have to say i love the low grip it fits my hand soooo good.

It is a great bow, but there are some others I personally like a little more. I can't argue with people who say it is their favorite because we all have different preferences. I really don't think you can go wrong with an ACS. I prefer the 3 piece because of ease of travel and because you can change out limbs. If you want one, you should buy one, but it would be nice to try one out first to make sure it is what you want. My biggest problem with the ACS bows is that many people seem to overhype them and make them sound like some super bow created by aliens from another galaxy who used extra-terrestrial materials and designs that allow the bows to defy the principles of physics. Hey, these are just well designed and fabricated trad bows, and you are much better off not expecting them to be something they are not. It appears that most of the people who are disappointed with the ACS bows are those whose expectations were inflated when they bought the bows. Mine does not shoot like my other bows that are 10 pounds heavier in draw weight like some people say.

My 43# ACS will easily shoot over 200fps with a 8gpp arrow and will still go over 190 with 10gpp.

I only draw 27.5 inches and this is by far the best bow I have ever shot. It is so smooth that it's the only bow I could shoot while recovering from a bow arm elbow injury without pain.

As for the grip, it fits me fine but if you need a larger grip the new 16" RC riser is a good bit larger and heavier.

P.S. some of the early models did have a very small grip but it was redesigned  a couple of times to the current model a few years ago.

Bullfrog,

I see a lot of criticism of small grips.  Keep in mind that it's easier to torque a large grip than a small grip.  I think these guys are talking about what's comfortable.  Look at Olympic bows - very small.  Or think of the extreme - a riser as small as a piece of wire.  A piece of wire riding in your life line would be impossible to torque.  It's why they put handles on screw drivers.

The customer service at A&H is tops. They will make the grip to your liking. All you gotta' do is tell them what you want.

I ordered one of the ACS one piece 56" bows about a month back and am looking forward to trying it out.I always liked the ACS bows but am a short bow guy so never ordered a new one for myself. When the 56" model came out I ordered one on the spot it should fit nicely into my collection of short Shrew/Centaur longbows.

Here's a pic of the Standard 14" grip and the 16" RC grip side by side. I like them both, can't comment on the one piece but I have a 64" one piece on the way that I should see sometime next week. Great shooting bows, accurate, ultra fast, dead in the hand and quiet. Can't think of any other qualities you would want in a bow.
