If you own a silvertip, you either don't have a FF compatible bow OR you paid the $65 upcharge.

With todays better materials and glues a properly shaped string groove is all I can think of.I would pass on any new bow that was not FF ready. No way I would ever buy one that someone tryed to charge $65 to do a job right. jmo

Would you like a string with that order?
How about some sort of finish?
Now for every inch longer we charge an
extra$25.00...   :biglaugh:
All kidding aside now  I can understand if they charge for antler or some sort of special horn etc.

I agree with Bjorn.  I recommend fast flite, but don't understand why a bowyer would charge extra for beefing up his bow to handle it.  Almost all bowyers nowadays automatically beef up their limb tips to handle fast flite.  I've never heard of fast flite causing riser failure.

I don't have the first clue "why".  I just wondered.  I was going to order the bow, anyway (upcharge or not).

Serious question....If the guys ordering these bows don't have a problem with it....why does anyone else?

If you had the option to order a new bow to be FF compatible.....would it be worth it, to you?

Let's say it was a $65 option.

I could care less what others spend there money on.Just answering your queston as it pertains to me.
