Mercury Nocks anyone...?
« on: June 08, 2009, 07:26:00 AM »
Hi all,

I'm after some good quality Mercury nocks in white. Anyone know who supplies these now-a-days?

Cheers,

Al:  If you find some, would appreciate your assessment of their quality.  IMO, Mercurys used to be the best nock around.  I still think their design is.  Then quality control went to pot and I think they went to a cheaper, more brittle plastic as well.  I haven't bought any since.  If they've improved, I would take another look.  Thanks.

I'll second that. There are a lot of "knock offs", punn intended that are junk.
The real one's have the size stamped on them. I don't think that I have seen copies that have the size stamped.

I have 1000's of the Jim Dandee speed nocks.  Which I beleive are very simular to the Mercs.  I have red, blue, orange, and green.  This are from old stock, and are very well made.

How many do you need, Al?
And are you going to come pick them up?

As for the numbers.... well I've a set of footed woodies that I thought I put some white 5/16 Mercs on just to try something new.

I got some from the Nocking Point (they have the good ones!) and would be proud to send you a couple dozen.

We have loads of white Al , happy to send you some.
The ones that got the bad reputation were the old company ( Modern Alpha plastics) They no longer make them to my knowledge.
The Mercury nocks we carry now are from a new company and much better.

I shoot them on all my arrows and they are top notch. No complaints here.
Al, I have some white as well that I  don't need if nothing else works out.
