Any Critter Gitters out there?
« on: June 13, 2009, 09:12:00 PM »
I have had this GN Critter Gitter with Jack Knife for about 4 days now. Mine is 64" and about 53@29 at my draw length. Nice shooting bow and the Jack Knife is about the handiest breakdown system that I've put my paws on. I'd never shot a GN before and this one has been sort of an eye opener.

Anyone else shoot one and what set up do you find best as far as nock and brace height, arrow set up etc?

I think that this one is going to be a keeper and if my shooting improves some more with it it may go on a hike with me in CO this Sept for wapiti and grouse.
Hunting with the bow and arrow involves earning your way by making meat, getting your hands messy in the process and then recognizing your own reflection upon them.

I use the great northern  fireballs with the hinge I love them, and the hinge is the best td system nothing to loose.   I shoot 60-65 hickory out of a 52# 62" bow.

Nice bow Dave. That one used to be mine.I had it between 6 and 3/4er and 7.Nock point at 1/2 inch.I shot 2018s cut to about 30.5 inches with 125 grain points.i drew it about 29.5 inches with that traditional grip.

Its not cut to center so you wanna find the proper spine so the arrow goes through paradox correctly to clear the sight window.I think a 2016 or maybe 2018 would be good for you.Get some different point weights from 100 gr to 160 and play around.Woodies 55 to 60 or 60 to 65 should work. The string is a 450 plus on that bow I am pretty sure.

It is a nice shooter and great TD system.

Ethan buddy, you act like you have an allergy to my plywood - I mean - BW bows - and just don't want to hump out an elk that's been Widder bit this fall.

Yeah, there is a CG in my stable, too.  I hunted it last year and probably will again this year.  Nice and light, shoots great, good zip and deathly quiet.  Gonna make her up some new firs.
