Since I switched to a recurve from a compound I find that I am back into building little forts, like when I was a child. Whenever I am out for a walk and find a good spot based on sign, or previous experience I put together a little fort, made out of fallen limbs and trees to serve as a ground blind sometime in the future. I started this past winter while snowshoeing, then continued through turkey season, and I am still going strong. I probably won't use half of them, but they will be there if I ever get an intuition about a big buck using that area. I still plan on using my tree stands, but like the idea of having a lot of blinds set up for quick hunts.
