Some good points that probably could use some clarification.
Nock point 1/4" high to me means that the centerline of the arrow at the string is 1/4" than the centerline of the arrow at the rest. I think that is the correct definition.
Brace height (fistmele) is PROPERLY measured, that is, it is DEFINED as the distance from the deepest part of the grip to the string. For my personal info that's now how I measure it, but if speaking with anyone else or measuring someone else's bow, that is the way I'd do it. That is the definition. Using back of bow, or belly, or any other point may prove easier for personal use, but the number obtained cannot properly be called brace height. Again, that is what I believe to be the definition of brace height.
