? about a rest on the shelf
« on: June 28, 2009, 01:51:00 PM »
My Indian Magnum hunter has a flat shelf that i have a bearhair rest on and it has no crown to it at all. was just wondering if there is a rest or a way to put some crown on it or if it would make a difference on accuracey. I shoot it well now but always curios if there are ways to improve on it. thanks in advance.

You could use a feather rest or a brush rest or a different elevated type rest like a Bear weather rest or a Hoyt. They will give you alittle space from the shelf.Or you could just build up under the bear hair rest you have now.

A small piece of leather shoe lace, wooden match stick, a small lump of epoxie, almost any thing will work to lessen contact with the shelf.

I've used a piece of a wooden match many times. It works great, I always center it in line with deepest contact point of hand to riser on recurves, or belly side of riser on hill styles.
