All I got to say is bull frogs, squirells and bow fishing.  tons of fun.

I agree with the general consensus that take the kids when they want to go. Same holds true for shooting in the yard, hunters safety, etc. When they express the interest then we do it. On any given day they might not be into it and that's ok. I try to never push. The only gun hunting I've done over the past few years is on opening day of firearms and one of my two kids has been there with me. Some very cooperative deer have had us on stand 30 minutes or so which is great! Son has done some bow hunting for rabbits and has tagged along for javelina hunts. He is hard charging now to javelina hunt and be the leader not the tag alonger. I like having them along and hope to foster the love for hunting in them.
