gold tip lightnings
« on: July 07, 2009, 05:53:00 AM »
I bought some GT Lightning arrows from George at Tollgate archery to shoot out of a 43# bow. Just for fun I tried them out of my 54# Black Widow and they fly extremely well out to 40-50 yards with no wobble at all. We put 100 grain inserts in them and they weigh about 510 grains. I spined them at 55#'s on a Adams spine tester. I was a little suprised at this as they are supposedly kids arrows. My draw is 27" and the arrows are 28". Did I luck into something good as these are economical? I've pounded these things stump shooting and they seem to take it well. I would have been thru 4-5 dozen woodies by now. I can't get a Alaskan Sitka to fly out of this bow at all. What do you think? I think I might have found an answer to economical hunting arrows. Anyone else try these?

Sounds like you are very pleased with them and that is all that matters.

they are seconds of mixed shafts, sometimes you get 35/55 sometimes 55/75. Usually not consistent in weight or spine.
