Mass produced bows verses tillering?
«

Was wondering about this today at work since its a slow day....
I assume mass produced bows are tillered for split finger. So what happens if you shoot 3 under? Would the bow have to be re-tillered or something to that nature?
Example....say a Martin Hunter recurve.
Any insight is appreciated

Chek-Mate did some tests on that some years ago, and to make a long story short their findings were that with some bows the noise was different (shoot a bow tillered for 3-under using split it was noisier, and vice-versa) but that's all--accuracy was not affected. I have a couple of friends that shoot 3-under and for years they shot bows tillered for split (and shot them very well) with no ill effects.
