Looking for a good tab
« on: July 16, 2009, 06:37:00 PM »
Hello all.
I am looking for a good tab. I have a Caviler Elite and like the thickness of the tab but don't really care for the plate.

So, ideally I am looking for a tab with a finger spacer with similar feel to the Caviler.

 Any suggestions?

thanks,
  Tom.

I personally like the Neet tabs. A little hard to find but have a comfortable felt finger spacer and come in calf hair or smooth leather. Cabelas usually has some.

I like to se a Sanders Fab Tab. Some type of plastic. I use it without any padding layers and really like it. Rain doesn't bother it or anything.

Pretty sure the Ultra Lite Elite Caviler Tab doesn't have a plate.  May be worth a try.

I also really like the Saunders Fab Tab, been using them for years. Great in any weather, cold or wet. You shoot them until you literally wear through the tab.

I have tried about 5 so far and like the black widow super leather the best.  It is a three layer so a little heavier, but I like it and it works great for me shooting my mid 50's bows and my 49 LB with a very skinny string.  The only thing I don't care for is the two splits.  I would like my ring and middle finger on the same leather so they don't curl up different when the tab breaks in.  The neet is not bad and would be #2 so far.  It is thinner and I would like a little more pad.  I hear a lot of good stuff about the batman and cordovan.  I would like a BW in cordovan, but can't find one.  The batman looks good, but I like the finger guards on the BW tabs.  I can’t tell how much padding the batman has and can’t fine one anywhere.  I would like to order one, but don’t know how thick it is.

Neet for me.  The calf hair tab will not hold up like a cordovan will, but I can really feel the string well and get a clean release with the Neet.

SAM tabs are what I've shot for years. I like them more than any that I've tried.
