draw length vs bow weight ?
«

Hi,
I have a draw length of 25 inches and my bow says 60# at 28 inches. Is there a rule of thumb about how much weight is lost per inch of draw length? I want to figure out my approximate weight for my draw length.
Thanks,

I know normally you gain between 2.5# to 3#s of wt every inch above 28" not sure if its the same under 28".

Most likely you are drawing around 50#.

Take your bow to an archery shop with a digital scale, put a draw length arrow on it, and draw it to your draw length. You will then know for sure what you are drawing on your bow.

Dave
I too draw 25" and usually loose 9 pounds give or take a pound depending on the bow when I shoot a bow marked at 28". You are probably shooting 50-52 pounds max. I have found that the 3# rule usually applies to every inch under 28" as well. Most of the bows I shoot marked at 60# @ 28 shoot 51# for me. Hope this helps.
