Arrow building help
«
on:

I know this has been on here several times but here goes again. I started building some arrows and found that my gasket laquer went bad. Don't want to wait and order some more gasket laquer. I stained the arrows already. Is there a clear coat from a box store that I can buy that I can use in the dip tube with the gasket and will this clear coat be compatable with acrylic crest paint. Thanks

I have used the MinWax Poly stains with good success in a dip tube. Saves the extra staining step. Takes a bit longer to dry than the gasket laquer, but 2 coats with a steel wool sanding between them seals the shafts very well. The acrylics should be OK, too. I have started using "paint pens" from the craft store with good results.
