Bear 8.5mm Metric Hunters

Well, I was lucky enough to recieve a set of old Bear 8.5mm Metric Hunter aluminum arrows. Course, I know these things are before my time, so I was wondering if anyone here had info on em.
 I mean anything would help. Spine, gpi, or what I'm most curious about; what modern shaft size compares closely to it. Heck, if ya have any good experiances with em, well, I'd like to hear them, too!

Took my first whitetail with a bear metric hunter arrow in 1980, new nothing about tuning, heck did not even have a nock point but could group pretty good at 15 yds eyeballing it, I just  needed to hunt. The saying even a blind squirel finds an acorn once in a while applied, the doe went 75yds. Thanks for letting me remember my most memorable hunt.

I used the 8.6's back when I was a compound shooter. at about 65#. Those things always flew great for me and a tough shaft as much as i put them thru, got my first bowkill with em.  :bigsmyl:

Chris; Snakeeater is right ,spines about like a 2117, also I believe the 2117 Broadhead adapters fit. they were made from easton'sX7 shaft material if i remember correctly and are very tough,they would rather break than bend.

I still have a few of the metrics. Like Sergio said, they seem to be a little brittle much like the X-7's.

I have a bunch of Metric Mags 8.6...they spine out to a 2413, take a standard 2117 insert. X7 shafting, Bronze color. Very tough and durable shaft. Price is $35 per doz

I have some old Bear Metric Magnums, but they are called .315. Is this a different series, and what does the number mean? They spine like 2018's, and that's how I use 'em. Same diameter, too. Any info on these?

Good thought, I'll check it out. If it's a decimal value, though, I wonder whay they call them .315? Seems like it would be xx millimeters or something.

Well, DUH! I just looked again at the arrows, and they say Magnum .316, not Metric Magnum. I've had these for years, you'd think I would look at them, wouldn't you? Anyway, they mic at .316, as advertised. A little bigger than a 2018, at .313.

I have a few 8.4mm Metric Magnums that equate to a 2115.  They spine about 67#'s and are Easton X-7 quality.  So Snakeeater should be correct about the 8.5 size...Van

I have some 8.5 mm nocks, wonder if that's what there for ?
 I don't even remember where I got them, but I've had them for awhile.
 I think I have about 20 of them, the're black, if anyone wants them PM me your addy and you can have them.
