I got a message from an individual in Penn. that's had to remove a large English Yew, easily over 100 yrs old, from his property. I told him I'd help him find someone who'd appreciate having the wood. I didn't get the impression he wants any money. It's too far away for me to do anything with it, so have at it! If you are near Penn., I'd email him immediately! See his latest message from yesterday (below). His name Is Anthony Ryan and here's his email address:
[email protected]"Hello Jay,
I hope that you got the pictures of our English Yew. It has now been cut down and what remains is the trunk (approximately 6'L x 2'D, 80" circumference) and probably 12 or so limbs 5-10'L and 6-10"D. The limbs and also pretty straight.
"I was wondering if you are still interested or if you can put me in touch with someone locally that you know who may be interested. I would love for a craftsman like yourself to take this wood, but I don't hear anything in the next few days I'm going to look for a wood mill that may be interested. Thanks."
