Megellan Triton 500 GPS maps
« on: July 28, 2009, 04:59:00 AM »
The other thread got me to thinking... I have a Triton 500 GPS that I bought last year and missed with for afew hours before I put it up.... Does anyone have this GPS??? What are the the best maps for it ?? The National Geographic topo maps or the Topo USA maps???... Really don"t know anything about using these things. Will it show me where I'm at on the topo???

I have an older Megellan, in the past you had to use their software for topo info.  Look at additional Topo software at:  http://www.magellangps.com/products/map.asp?tab=0&PRODID=2190

I never owned a magellan.  But I can tell you that the National Geographic maps are some of the best I've seen.

I have a Magellan 500 and elkbreath is right.... the Nat. Geo. maps are excellent.

They also allow you to fully customize the map on your PC before uploading to the GPS.

Here is a link to where I purchased my copy (good folks to deal with and very good prices):

Edit: Yes, it will show your location on the topo   :D
