Schafer Question
«
on:

I have a new to me schafer from the classifieds here on tradgang. It has the 17" riser with the 62" limbs and is marked 70# @29 although it doesn't feel like it. It seems kind of slow compared to my 58" schafer, would the long limbs with the short riser make any difference in speed? I am going to take it to the local shop and make sure of the draw weight.

I have a 17" riser / 62" overall length Schafer (58#'s at my DL).
It doesn't LOOK faster than my 60" limbs (same riser) that make a 52# bow (again at my DL).
Chrono'd.....it's 10fps faster.
Unless you have a dandy trad shop....I doubt they'll be able to accurately check your Draw Weight.
Also....Ar eboth of your 'Tips FF compatible?

This bow is 68# at my draw with carbon in the limbs. The bow that I was comparing it to was 70# at my draw. This bow is so smooth. I had to check the draw weight because it sure didn't feel like 68#. It is a great bow.

I've got the short(15") riser and long limbs-60" bow 64@28. The longer limb makes for a smoother draw. It will shoot faster than the other setup, all other things being the same-arrows, DL, etc. You will like the short/long combo.
