Lone Wolf Tree Seat
« on: August 02, 2009, 08:41:00 AM »
Anyone use one?
 http://www.lonewolfstands.com/shoppingcart/Products/Tree-Seat__TS.aspx

Does the bracket fold into the seat, so I could put a sling on it for easy transport?

Please no suggestions of DIY seats. Been there, not interested. I'd like one super solid professional seat and to help "stimulate the economy". LOL

Ho help with your question, but here's an interesting option. Stats are very close to the LW, but looks like more seat for the money.

I have used the seat from my lone wolf climber as a seat. I also bought a seat that looks very much like the one you showed. I think it was from API, not sure. Both worked well, but were a bit heavy, If your not going to far not an issue.Just make sure thats it a good quality seat , so if you move to get ready to shoot its silent.

This is what I'll be using on the ground a lot.  You won't find a seat anywhere more comfortable.  I put some backpack straps on it; painted it a little (knock the black off a little) and I'm looking forward to hunting out of it.

Good luck.

GMMAT,

That looks pretty sweet. Does it have a rod that sticks into the ground? How quiet is it? That may be great for locations with no tree.

Doug, is the LW seat bulky for transporting?

Nope.  You'd have to have a tree to use this one.  It's support relies on it being hung.

But a more comfortable seat....you will not find!

I have the Summit tree seat, and it is light, easy and comfy. Only problem is when you stand to shoot, you don't have a lot of platform left.
I made a LW seat from spare parts, Seat, Post, and brackets. The seat will fold up for either carrying or shooting.
Summit is more comfortable for long sets, Lone Wolf is more mobile.

Haven't seen or used the LW tree seat for ground hunting but bet it's quality stuff. I've got several  LW trees stands and love them. With that said when I use a seat for ground hunting I use the Niff-T- Seat. Doesn't limit you to sitting against trees as you can use it against blow downs, rocks etc. I think it's very comfortable as you can adjust the angle the post goes to the ground. Sorry don't have a link but a search here for Niffty Seat should get some hits. Much more versitle in my humble opinion.

Jeff, I have a few older stands with no seat on them, so I have used the Summit Trophy seat while using them.. Hence the comment about "Platform"
Actually for ground hunting, I have started to use a Lone Wolf, set about 3" off the ground. Then when I stand to shoot I have a nice even platform under my feet, and don't have to worry about snapping twigs etc.

I just sold my summit and purchased a lone wolf. The seat on the Lone Wolf is alot less comfortable then the Summit. Summit defintaly has an advatage when it comes to comfort.
The platform on the Lone Wolf is great! I have the Sit and Climb and am able to "push" the bar out of my way when I shoot, so I can utalize just about the whole platform. I could not do that with the Summit. Both stands have their advantages and disadvantages...Thats for sure! But thats just my .02
