Hello, anyone know of anywhere to shoot near Quantico, VA. I am also needing to pick up some fletching while I am out here so I can make up some arrows for the fall. Any advice would be appriciated. Thanks

Go to the NFAA site for the state of VA, there should be two great archery clubs near you the Prince William archers and also in the town of Manassas is the CUB RUN archers. I was a member of these clubs in the 70's, now retired from IBM and living in the big woods of NEW York state...
The marine base also use to have a club but I think it was for marines only. But of course if you hunt you should keep the base as a place to hunt. You have to take a course to be a safe hunter etc, but many a morning I stood on line waiting to get my pass to hunt one of the base area's...
let us know how you make out...

What do you need in the way of fletching?
NORVA has a 25 target 3D course...

Unfortunately Quantico isn't in a great spot for getting around traffic wise. For the fletching, you could go south to Fredricksburg, where they have a Gander Mountain. Take the Fredericksburg exit off 95 and go west - it's about a half mile down on the left. Other option is to go north toward Alexandria and visit Bowes and Arrows. Bobby doesn't have a lot of stuff though and is a crotchety old cuss who caters mainly to the whell bow crowd. For shooting, if you go north, Ft Belvior has an excellent indoor range and a very nice outdoor range as well as a great field course.

Thanks for all of the info. I will be back in the midwest by hunting season so I won't be hunting out here. The base used to have an archery range that walked through the woods. Unfortunately it is gone. I brought out a half dozen shafts and thought I could fletch them and get them flying right before I get home. I just need a half dozen white full length lw. I past that gander mountain on the way here. I will give that a try.
Killdeer- where is the archery range you mentioned
John- you know I can't sit still. I brought some wood and will get the better part of a bow done before I head back
Thanks again

NORVA is located at the entrance to Fountainhead Park outside of Clifton, VA. They have a website. It is off of Hampton Road, which is off of 123 off of 95 North. Google up a map and you can get better directions than my foggy-brained seat-of-the-pants navigations.
We have a clubhouse if you want to fletch there. I can give you some feathers, the wimpy white ones that come from a reputable company. I have a burner, too, if you didn't bring yours.
