simmons swirl?
« on: August 15, 2009, 05:51:00 PM »
So does anyone know how to do it?  after reading the marble thread kinda caught my interest.  I remember years back trying to figure this out.  Had some that came out OK, but nothing really nice...

So....anyone figure it out or is it still a big secret?

you talking about the marbled dip cresting?

When I had an arrow business I did it this way- and I think someone offered it as a method.

Get a bucket- fill it with clean water. Spray your marble color paint on the water - take your base color crown- dipped shaft and stick it straight in the bucket and straight out.

no..not the marble dip..the swirl, looks somewhat similar but it looks more like its done with some kind fo stain then paint.....   YOu dont see much of them around.  Supposidly Jerry Simmons, broadhead guy, did this and passed the secret along....would be cool to learn it.
