Plains type coyote quiver

I put this quiver together for a friend in Oklahoma. It is made with commercial tanned coyote hide, commercial tanned elk hide and red garment leather. The coyote face is the flap for a detachable pouch. The strap is adjustable and attached to the stiffener(viburnum)rod with thongs and osage medallions. The quiver is hand stitched with artificial sinew and is mostly done using an awl to punch the stitching holes.

Thanks guys. This was a fun project and my first hair on quiver.
Larry, my grandparents used to live at 908 North Spring Street and we would spend our summers at Inerarity(sp) Point...back in the 50s and early 60s.

Looks great!

Is that coyote hide thick enough to stand up to field points and broadheads?  I've got a hide in the freezer I want do something similar with but I thought I'd have to line it with something.  I know I could use arrow sheaths but I'd rather not deal with them.

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

I have a 'yote hide that I'm holding on to with the intent of making a quiver of some kind.

  Dave, I sewed in a latigo bottom on this quiver but a rawhide cup in the bottom will hold up better with broadheads. The skin is fairly thin and this was a large Canadian coyote.
   In the build along section of Primitive Archer website(page 3 I believe) "Jackcrafty"(Patrick Bland) did an excellent build along showing many good techniques for working with coyote hide. He built an authentic Plains quiver and as with the Native quivers, the hide is backwards(head at the rear and tail forward). I opted to make this quiver with the mouth of the quiver at the head so the fur laid towards the rear.
