This past weekend was very special for me. My daughter started shooting traditional archery at the age of seven, she is sixteen now. Then about two years ago she developed target panic real bad. We had tried everything and couldn't cure it so she gave up.She continued to go to shoots and walk the courses with me. This year when we got home from Denton Hill she asked me to string her bow ! Over the next few weeks everyday when nobody was home she was shooting in the back yard. This past weekend we went to the Hawkeye Bowman Shoot and she took her bow ! She shot all of the courses on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday morning she slept in. At noon on Sunday they always have the Champion of Champions shoot off and award prizes for the top youth, women and man. I was folding my tent up and saw it was almost noon so I grabbed my bow to head to the shoot off and told her to grab hers. She said she wasn't going to shoot just watch. I talked her into taking her bow anyway. When it came time for the womens division she stepped up ! She pulled it all together and won it !!!!!! I want to thank everyone on here that has tried to help with her target panic over the years. In the end she cured it herself with no one watching. This means more than all of the racks and plaques on my walls. She has hung the plaque over her bed with the lucky arrow proudly displayed.
