That is some thing that I need to learn too. Right now I'm using slabs and preforms. Here is another one I did today.

Jim, can you recommend a good book or video I can start learning from? Also, where do you get your stone to work from? We have obsidion in some areas of California, but I'm not sure what I'd be looking for in terms of quality or features, etc.
