Heres the deal,,,I am shooting a Fox bow. 62"-53#-@ 28" I have been shooting tapered arrow dynamics traditional full length
32-3/8 long arrows (not sure what the gpi is can someone help me with that?)with 100 gr insert's and a 175 grn. broadhead. I am guessing that the AD's are at least 11 gpi for a total weight of 605 grn's..
They have been flying pretty true for the most part better than anything i have tried in the past..
Today i was making up some stumping arrows, They are gold tip 3555 30 1/2" long with 85 grn insert and a 125 broadhead.
I think the GT's go 10 gpi for around 300grn add the insert and broadhead for a total weight of 500 grn's..
The GT's are flying PERFECT!! and are flying much faster than the AD's,, and are getting at least 6 more inches of penetration than the AD's..
After reading a recent slightly heated thread on arrow weights for Elk, I am just a little confused on why a 500 grn arrow will penetrate deeper than a 600 grn arrow..
The only thing i can think of is the GT is a smaller diameter arrow..
Any thoughts??
