I learned all this myself from getting a few open wounds like that and finally going to the hospital when it wouldn't stop bleeding! Some doctors just love to lecture!      :D
You won't get stitched by a Dr after the wound is 24 hours old, especially one that superficial. BTDT, butcher for 37 years.
We call the super glue and tape a "ghetto bandage".

Try to find Mastisol Liquid Adhesive and 3m Steri-strip. If not super glue!

No advice, just sympathy from me.

My wife shot an arrow through her hand 2 weeks ago, the arrow must have been had a crack at the fletched end. Split on release half the arrow went one way, the other half the other and a fletch embedded itself 2 inches into her thumb, she is a lefty too.

Had to give it a hell of a tug to get it back out, and then a trip to the hospital. Nothing too serious, they cleaned it up and put on this special dressing which looked like a second bit of skin. It's still sore but she can now shoot a bit, hopefully it will be fully better in 2 weeks as that the UK national championships which she is likely to do very well in.

I guess if we run into the bear that is making these tracks, we oughta just get off the trail.......He seems to like it!
