Shot a Rivers Edge Arroyo and met a fellow Tradganger.
« on: April 01, 2007, 12:31:00 PM »
Made the trip to the Madison Deer & Turkey Expo, what a madhouse! Got to meet Kevin and Sue or RER bows again and saw Mr. Golden Hawk also.
Got to shoot the 54" Rivers Edge Arroyo recurve and am impressed. I own a 60" model, but think I like the 54" even better. I was amazed at how quiet this short bow is, no noise at all even without string silencers. This should make an excellent Turkey blind bow. Had to order one, all Bocote with a thin Cocobolo stripe in the riser.
Now I just have to bribe Kevin to get her finished quickly for me;)

I only draw to 27", but cannot see any problems going to 28". Felt great, no noise.
Frank, Sue told me you had to work. Skipped out of the Expo early as it was getting too crowded for my liking. Hope that knife is working out for you?

Frank - you guys should try and make it to the MN coon rapids shoot in June !  great course set-up.

I wish I could have made it to madison with Greg, but then I'd have another bow on order too....   ;)

I own a 54" Arroyo and I draw just shy of 29"s and no problem with pinch and it does not stack out to 30"s either. It is gonna be my turkey bow for sure. I have been shooitng it out of my blind and it is very manuevarable as well. It is pretty quiet but it does need silencers to get it where I like. Mine smokes and arrow and for a short bow is not that critical of release. Shawn

Yep, you shoudl make the trip in June. They have on-site primitive camping this year so it may be a case where I throw the tent in a stay the weekend, even though I only live about 20 miles from the range.
Gordy - there will be no more bow orders this year. I've heard myself say that before though.
